Well, good job so far, but every time I hear "slim fast" I cringe... if you knew what I know you would too... I would LOVE to educate and help you if you are truely interested in having better health for life! You CAN loose those lbs by your birthday, even before! I did it in a very short period of time, and its just as easy as slim fast, but unlike slim fast you WONT put the weight back on! EVER!
hope I can help you out!
Jen:)

It's good to hear from you! I'm doing good. How about you? I was back on track with diet and exercise until yesterday. It was my birthday and my family, knowing I'm dieting, brings me a chocolate suicide cake! What the hell were they thinking?! Well of course I had a piece or 2 lol and told my husband I wanted it out of the house by this morning. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away! Also they brought me my favorite, chocolate covered pretzels! I honestly think people think it's funny to tempt you. If they only knew how hard it was or how it felt to be overweight most of your life. Oh well...it's over with and it's a brand new day! I have 30 pounds I would like to lose also so lets do it!
I hope you are feeling well and everything is going great for you! Keep in touch because I need the motivation!

Hey Brian....that's still pretty good!! And this is a whole new year, so let's try to motivate each other again, for REAL this time!! I'm starting the year at 138.0, so I lost 14 lbs total last year. Not fantastic, but not so bad either. And I managed to not gain any weight over the holidays, so I'm REALLY happy about that. The kids are doing great. Ashleigh just loves being in Kindergarten, and Justin is amazing us all again this year. We had a wonderful Christmas and are in the process of packing up to move into the new house we bought in November. A wonderful two-story colonial that my fiance and I bought together. It should be a very interesting year for us all. But back to weight loss and getting healthy. How is your health doing these days? Have you looked into any alternative treatments?? Let's make 2008 our year and really strive to reach our goals, together I know we can do it!!!

Hey Brian...GREAT pic! You can really see the weight that you've lost in that. FANTASTIC!! I've been wondering how you've been doing, but have been SO crazy busy all summer that I haven't had time to breathe. And oddly enough, now that school is here...it's STILL CRAZY!! That's OK. I guess I kind of like it that way. The kids started back to school yesterday. Justin went into 2nd grade and my little Ashleigh just started Kindergarten. MAN, they grow up so fast, don't they? What grade are your kids in this year? I've been doing so-so on the weight loss thing. I'm back up to 141.1, which is a 2 lb weight gain from when I last posted. But honestly, I haven't been trying very hard this summer with my eating. And I exercise about 2 days a week at most. So I'm maintaining pretty well for not doing anything. LOL!! I just ran a 4 miler this morning and my legs will be sore for the next 3 days. :) I just started a part-time job in addition to my full-time work, so now the only real option to working out is mornings that I don't have my kids. We'll see how that goes. I did it this morning, but only b/c I had a partner. On days I'm left to do it alone....I just sleep. LOL!! Oh...and I"m taking an online class this semester. What the HELL was I thinking?!?! Oh well....I hope all is well with you and that you're keeping busy and trying to get fit. How's everything coming with your health these days...anything new?? It was really good to hear from you, Brian, and I hope to hear from you again soon! Have a great day....

Hey Brian...long time, no type!! I'm OK. Things are gearing up for another school year. I have one in second grade and one starting Kincdergarten this fall. Should be busy. Work is getting back to crazy. My corporate audit starts next Monday. Same s*(^, different day. I haven't been working out very much. I've been pressed for time working OT recently, and a couple weeks ago we were in vacation in Orlando. Took the kids to Disney, that was great!! Haven't really gotten back to it since then. I weighed myself today and I'm still where I've been for the last 2-3 months. 139.6. Having lost 12.5 lbs for the year. I just can't get motivated to get past this plateau. I can stay here with minimal effort, but I'd still like to lose 12-15 lbs overall. If you come up with anything good, let me know. :) Once the stress is done here at work, I should be able to concentrate on that part of my life again. But then again, there's ALWAYS something...isn't there?! LOL!! How are you? Where are you at weight-wise? What's going on with your health these days???? Fill me in, kid...

Hi, Jenny. Thank you SO much for updating me on Brian. It's amazing how crucial personal encouragement is to weight loss. It's such a long and ardous process. I've been struggling with weight issues for most of my life, and it's people like Brian that give you the courage to keep trying. He seems like such a wonderful guy and I am SO sorry to hear about his continued struggles with his cancer. I totally agree with you on the journaling. My sister-in-law and I keep a food log blog together b/c she lives in CT in me in NY. So not only are YOU seeing what you ate all day, but your weight loss parnter is as well. It's humbling and TOTALLY keeps you on track (well, most of the time.) Also, I have a 5 year old and a 7 year old, so I consider playing with them part of my exercise regimen. LOL! Please, please, please send Brian my prayers and support. And my prayers go out to you and your children as well. I'm sure this is a very trying time for your family...trust in GOD, and love each other and that's really the best you can do. Thank you again, Jenny, for keeping me posted on Brian. It means a lot to me that he wanted to support ME in his hour of need. He is quite a person, indeed. I am getting remarried in August this year to a wonderful man as well, and I want to lose some weight to be totally comfortable for our big day. Brian's (& your) encouragement will help me to achieve that goal. You are in my prayers always...Anissa
