"I loved being able to easily track my progress in weight loss and in exercise. It was fun to see my name move up on the leaders board. I could hardly wait for each Monday to come so I could record my new lower weight. I was able to continue with my goals using my personal page after the competition and with the jump start the competition gave me I have lost 51 pounds"

"Our group of eight women has been doing the weight loss competition on weightlosswars.com for three months; we're very happy with the process and think we've had great success. This all started at a party of friends from church. We were talking about how all of us wanted to either lose weight, exercise more, or make healthier food choices.

"Motivation seemed to be a common problem, so we decided to have a competition. Since we all have children and most of us are working outside the home, it's easy to put our own health at the bottom of the priority list. This competition makes us accountable and gives us a forum to discuss, track, and help each other.

"We started as a real competition. The winning group of four was to receive overnight babysitting for their children by the losing group of four. Over time, we didn't focus on the competition as much. We learned that as a group we could help each other whether we were on the same team or not. We meet every other week to discuss how we're doing. We even took a "field trip" to a specialty grocery store so we could all share our favorite items and ideas.

"At the end of our three months, we found our two teams were so close that we decided it was a tie. We're starting another three month period now, and we plan to continue for a very long time to come. I have lost weight in the past only to find that over time I regain. This time I am confident I won't have that problem again. These ladies won't let me! We all update our weight into weightlosswars.com at least once a week. There is an accountability and support that I have never had before.

"Some of our group aren't overweight, they just want to make healthier choices and increase their exercise. Others' main goal is to lose weight. Three of us lost around 18 pounds each during out first three months; our group lost almost 68 pounds in total. We love the way this website let's us track own our progress, keep up with others, and cheer on success."

"I found the site successful because it forced me to be accountable each day about how much I weighed, exercised, etc. And doing it in a form of a competition helped get my competitive juices going against other teams... In two months I lost 30 lbs and I'm still recording all of my stats daily to reach my goal of losing 60 lbs overall."

"In a 4-month period I was able to lose 33 lbs. It made me feel great and gave me more energy. It made me realize that anyone, with their mind set on doing something, can accomplish any realistic goal. Most important of all--it was a big morale booster for me..."

"I have wanted to lose weight for a very long time and I have tried several fad diets, that people have told me worked for them, but they never worked for me. When I was given this opportunity to improve my health with a competition I knew this was what I really needed to get the results I wanted. I am eating healthy, I am exercising daily, and I no longer drink soda pop. Because of this competition and the increased activity over the competition I feel better, I look better and the energy I have is so awesome."

"Since leaving the military in 1992, I let my physical fitness slip to a point where I was grossly out of shape, and suffering from high blood pressure. This competition gave me the final motivation to get back in shape. According to my doctor my blood pressure is down from high to normal, my weight is down, and I am exercising regularly each day. This has empowered me to schedule some time for physical fitness. The results speak for themselves and I feel much better."

"Our team had a lot of success through this competition. For the one participant who didn't lose weight, she actually won on the exercise portion. It motivated all of us to exercise and eat right."

"I just returned from a week long vacation and because of this competition I was able to walk 6 to 10 hours a day and keep up with my kids who are 30 years younger than me. I have decided that I am already a winner because of my success so far. My prize is a new and healthier and better looking me. So even if I am not THE winner, I am a Winner."
